Procrastination of work is definitely not anybody’s friend. Well, the several things people get carried away with which kills productivity are because they are not controlled. The three most productivity killers at every office are mentioned here.
Of course! Continuous texting has become one of the common habits among us. We do not really keep track of how much time is taken ones we start texting because it is addictive – to keep messaging one after one and then you get carried away. So, isn’t this one of your reasons for the delay of work too? With all the instant messaging apps developed, texting has now become the NO.1 reason for delays. The etiquette expert, Jacquiline Whitmore says that disabling push notifications on the phone will stop the buzzing or even switching it off and put it away will reduce texting addiction.
As you know, Social networking too has been one the most addictive things- more like eating french-fries. Social media is the most effective way of connecting with people from the same industry as yours and also a great way to keep in touch and be updated. The University of Maryland collaboration with Total DUI (a non-profit group), recently released that 18% of users cannot go beyond "a few hours" without checking Facebook and 61% of users check their newsfeed "at least once a day." Of iPhone users, 28 percent check their Twitter feed before getting up in the morning. To some people it is like a “crazy addiction” which makes it difficult for people to resist using social media. Therefore the best is to have a site blocker to reduce the usage of it and to keep away the phone from your sight.
Chit chats & Gossips
It is good to enjoy chit chatting with coworkers but then you tend to get carried away. Catching up with office gossips can be interesting too. A hot gossip may keep you going so could chit chats, but you must remember not to blabber too much and keep tap of the time being wasted. Make sure you chit chat or gossip during breaks only.
Remember folks you need to stop yourself from being carried away during work. Everything needs to be at its limit. Before you get fired for procrastination, get on your feet and be productive!
